Digital Campus

The Digital Campus is your online campus where you will complete coursework and attend class. Review your Digital Campus tech guide to maximize your use of this platform. This guide complements your Student Orientation content. If you need further instruction, feel free to watch this Digital Campus Training Video:

Digital Campus Calendar

Course calendars are available in the Digital Campus and include all dates for office hours, peer learning sessions, and live sessions. You can view the calendar in the Digital Campus (from your Dashboard, click “Calendar” on the left side). Please note, you should join all meetings via the Zoom Live Sessions page in the Digital Campus (from the main course landing page, click ‘Zoom Live Sessions’ on the left side). To change the time zone, go to Account -> Settings -> Edit Settings and pick the correct time zone from the dropdown. The Digital Campus default is Eastern Time, unless you set it to match your local time zone.

Slack

Slack is a workspace that is used regularly to communicate with classmates and faculty. If you are new to Slack, consider exploring the Slack Help Center.

Access to Slack Workspace

An activation email will be sent to your program email prior to Term 1. Once you activate your account, you will have access to a “view only” Announcement channel. You will be added to course channels and other private channels after you complete your term fee payment. Sign into your “hbap-cohort” workspace here, your account is associated with your program email address. Here is a helpful resource to learn more about Slack and FAQ for users.

Getting Added to Slack Course Channels

All registered students will be added to a course-specific Slack channel upon the course access date and on a rolling basis thereafter. If your registration is not complete for any reason, you will not be added to a course-specific Slack Channel. Under no circumstances should you add another student to your course channels.

If you need to be added to a course-specific Slack channel, please reach out to your Student Success Advisor or a member of the Student Success team. At the end of each course, your course channel enrollment will be archived.

Slack Extracurricular Channels

After Term 1 Add/Drop, students will be added to extracurricular private Slack channels by Student Success. The current list of extracurricular channels includes “Social and Off Topic,” “Career Planning,” “Entrepreneurship,” and a cohort-specific channel. Think of these channels as a baseline plan, while you can customize your account by adding further public channels.

To search for public channels, keyword search in Slack for “t-”; this stands for topical channels or “r-”, this stands for regional channels. Review the extracurricular Slack channel list to browse the current channels (to access this document, log into your HBAP Google account).

Zoom

Zoom is a videoconferencing platform used for Peer Learning Meetings and live session classes. To get started with Zoom, consult your HBAP Zoom User Guide. For additional support, consult the Zoom Help Center instructional videos and contact Digital Campus Technical Support for training and support on Zoom.

To allow the Digital Campus Zoom account to work with Harvard’s university-managed Zoom domains, all Digital Campus users are assigned an email alias for HBAP Zoom meetings.

What is an email alias?

  • Your Digital Campus Zoom account is not linked directly to your mail.analytics.hbs.edu email address. A new ‘alias’ address has been linked instead.
  • The alias is not a full email address. It works only as a login to the Digital Campus Zoom account, and forwards any mail received to your analytics email address.
  • The alias email address is formatted as an ID number followed by a custom domain for HBAP (e.g., A1b2C3d4E5f6G7h8I9j0123@2harvard.edu.prod.zoom.2u.com)

How do I use Zoom?

  • For Live Sessions, Peer Learning sessions, or Office Hours, join the meeting from the ‘Zoom Live Sessions’ link in the left-hand navigation list within each course in the Digital Campus.
    • Please note that although the Calendar events also contain links to the live sessions, they will not properly launch the meetings. You must join by clicking on the meeting link within the course.
  • You may join meetings and create instant meetings within the Digital Campus.
  • The alias email address will auto-forward any Zoom messages to your mail.analytics.hbs.edu email address.

How do I set up the Digital Campus Zoom account?

  • The first time you access the Zoom Live Sessions page within Digital Campus you will be asked to ‘Authenticate’ your Digital Campus Zoom account. Just click on ‘Authenticate’ and you will be ready to go.
    • Following this authentication you will immediately have access to Zoom.

Can I access this Zoom account outside of the Digital Campus?

  • If you wish to use the Zoom application, or the zoom.us website, will need to navigate to the unique Zoom ‘vanity’ URL for the HBAP program (https://harvard-2u-com.zoom.us)
  • You will be directed to a Zoom login page, where you should choose ‘Sign In’
  • You will then be directed to a Digital Campus login page, where you will be asked to enter the same email address and password that you use to log into the Digital Campus.
  • Once logged in you will have access to the Zoom web portal, which allows you to access additional Zoom settings and management tools.
  • Note: If you would like to log in directly to the Zoom desktop, or in the rare event you are having issues accessing the Digital Campus, log into the app by selecting “Sign in with SSO,” and enter “harvard-2u-com” as the “company domain.”

Please let your Student Success Advisor know if they can help facilitate answers to any questions you may have.
