Harvard Business Analytics Program

Harvard Business School (HBS) in collaboration with the Harvard John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS) and the Harvard Faculty of Arts and Sciences (FAS)

Online/On Campus: Online With On-Campus Immersions

Length: Nine Months

Who Should Apply?

The online program is suited for emerging and established leaders with a strong foundation in business strategy, as well as an academic or professional background that prepares them to succeed in a rigorous cross-disciplinary curriculum. Ideal candidates aspire to drive innovation by mastering analytics practices, using data to uncover insights, and incorporating their findings into strategy at the top levels of their organizations.

Program Structure

The Harvard Business Analytics Program consists of six core courses and two seminars delivered through a highly interactive online learning platform, where students can collaborate with their peers and discuss case studies in real time during class. Coursework can be viewed and completed via desktop or mobile application from any connected device. Additionally, two in-person immersions bring students to the Harvard Business School campus to network and solve real-world business problems. The program can be completed in as little as nine months.

Tuition

The $50,000 tuition is paid incrementally each term based on the number of courses taken. While federal financial aid is not available for certificate programs, applicants are encouraged to explore all funding options, including employer sponsorships. Many organizations offer continuing education reimbursements or funding.

MS/MBA

Harvard Business School (HBS) and the Harvard John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS)

Online/On Campus: On Campus

Length: Two Years

Who Should Apply?

The MS/MBA is ideal for students who: 1) aspire to lead technology ventures; 2) have undergraduate degrees in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field with a record of academic excellence; 3) have at least two years of full-time work experience, ideally designing and/or developing technology-intensive products; and 4) meet the other criteria for admission to HBS’s MBA Program.

Program Structure

Most of year one is spent at HBS completing the MBA Required Curriculum, although MS/MBA students start the program as a cohort at SEAS in August, taking the System Engineering course. They also meet periodically as a cohort at SEAS during year one in the Engineering, Design & Innovation Management Seminar and complete the Technology Venture Immersion course during the winter term.

During year two, MS/MBA students split their time between SEAS and HBS, enrolling in electives at each school. As a cohort, they take the Integrated Design course during the fall term and, during the winter and spring terms, complete the Capstone course, in which they work in a small team to build and launch a new product.

Tuition

Each year of the program, MS/MBA students will be charged tuition that equals the annual tuition paid by stand-alone MBA candidates (currently $73,440 for the Class of 2020) plus the cost of the additional courses taken by MS/MBA students.

MS/MBA students will be eligible to apply for need-based HBS fellowships and student loans in both years of the program.
